5 Fabulous Reasons to Take Yourself to Phoenix

Ready, Set, Go … escape the final days of winter and charge into spring at Sales Convention in warm and wonderful Phoenix, Arizona!

There’s no better time of the year to experience the beauty of the Sonoran Desert than springtime. In fact, with high temperatures approaching the mid-seventies you may even get an early start on your tan, but you’ll still be able to enjoy layering up for the cool, clear evenings that drop to the 50s.

Here are five reasons to consider:

  1. Shake off the winter blues: Not only are the daytime temperatures sitting around 76°F, it’s the beginning of pool season, so spend a relaxing afternoon poolside. Many pools in Phoenix are not heated, however, so check with your hotel before taking the plunge.
  2. The desert bursts into bloom: Wildflowers and flowering cacti are on full display in the lush Sonoran Desert during the warm spring days. So consider taking a nature hike on Camelback Mountain or borrow a bicycle from your hotel and wheel your way through the Desert Botanical Garden’s 50 acres of giant saguaros and colorful blooms. If you don’t have time to venture that far, experience urban Phoenix on a Grid Bike and just drop it off at the next hub when you’re done or download a GSP walking tour to your iPhone or Android and enjoy a stroll around historic downtown.
  3. Baseball: The Cactus League Spring Training games have begun with 15 Major League Baseball teams participating this year. You can watch your favorite team practice or even get tickets to a game.
  4. Get in some golf: After a chilly winter hiatus, give your clubs a workout on one of Phoenix’s premiere golf courses. The Greater Phoenix area is home to over 200 golf courses.

Dine al fresco: Dozens of downtown Phoenix eateries offer outside seating and many—such as The Arrogant Butcher and Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails—are within walking distance of the Convention Center and downtown hotels, so soak up some sun while you sample local specialties between meetings.
